Furqan Ishak

Owner / Dentist

GDC Number: 81058

I grew up in Scotland and qualified at Dundee University in 2002, before moving down to Nottingham to start work as a dentist. I opened Bottesford Dental Practice in 2011 hoping to improve dental health in the local community and surrounding villages – and to create a dental practice to be proud of.

I really enjoy working as a general dental practitioner, doing different treatments every day and I’m increasing my skills for the future with implant training. When I’m not working I enjoy listening to music and going to concerts and festivals. I like football, but unfortunately for me, I am a big Tottenham Hotspur fan. I love food and going to restaurants and trying different cuisines – and I also like to cook at home. I got married in 2012 to my wife Safeera and we have a little boy Laith who keeps us really busy and entertained.

Dentist

GDC Number:  272936

I studied dentistry in Valencia, Spain and graduated in 2017. Since moving back to Nottingham I have been working full time in a general and emergency care clinic. I always aim to provide the best quality of care possible while helping my patients feel relaxed and comfortable throughout – I am particularly good with those feeling apprehensive or nervous about the dentist!

I also try and continually increase and refine my skillset and have done a number of postgraduate courses in pursuit of this, with the hope of commencing a restorative diploma in 2020. In my free time I try and travel as much as I can, enjoy great food and (attempt) to keep fit!

Pippa Rees

Dental Nurse / Treatment Coordinator

GDC Number: 264310

I joined Bottesford Dental Practice in October 2013. In May 2016 I gained my Level 3 Diploma in Dental Nursing. Since qualifying I have gone on to further my knowledge and experience by attending: Implants Training Course for Dental Nurses. This helped me gain confidence and competence in my role during implant procedures, but also in my general dental nursing role.

Since being promoted to Treatment Coordinator in June 2016 and attending a One Day Treatment Coordinating Course, I am keen on ensuring the practice runs efficiently so patients have the best possible experience. Once being a nervous patient myself I understand patients have fears and concerns, I am extremely driven in reassuring our patients and making their experience here at the practice as calm, comfortable and stress free as possible.

Ashleigh Gallagher

Dental Nurse

GDC Number: 257855

I joined Bottesford Dental Practice September 2018. I am experienced and competent in my role as a Dental Nurse, assisting in procedures. Having gained my Level 3 Diploma in Dental Nursing in 2014 I have worked in the public and private sectors.

My goals are to provide a first class service with our patients’ dental needs, providing reassurance and advice in a relaxing, stress free environment. I am a family orientated individual who enjoys the outdoors and visiting new places, having travelled to Thailand, Australia, Canada, USA and many places in the UK. As much as I enjoy diverse foods, I’m not a very good cook and rely on my partner to do the cooking.

Sam Leeming

Dental Nurse

I previously was at Grantham College studying health and social care and decided that being a nurse is something I definitely wanted to be, I just didn’t know what kind! Since starting here at the practice I have felt in the right place and I love what I do and the lovely people I work with also. I qualified as a dental nurse in 2019.

I live in Bottesford and have done for 10 years so I love working in the community I live in. In my spare time I love walking my black Labrador called ‘Ava’ and attending to my lop eared rabbit ‘Carlton’. I love spending time with family and friends. I am quite a jet-setter also as I have family all over the world. I have been to Canada, Australia, Greece and Spain which are all beautiful places and I’m very fortunate to have been.

Kerry Bushell

Receptionist

I studied English Literature at university, and after graduating I worked as a librarian for 10 years which I loved. I took a career break to get married and have children – and, since our daughters started school, I have worked as a copy writer, a teaching assistant and even co-owned a beauty salon. I started work at the dental practice when it opened in October 2011, as its receptionist.

I love my job and like welcoming new patients to the practice and ensuring their experience is as comfortable as possible. When I’m not working, I love eating out, but dislike cooking and avoid it where possible. I don’t watch much TV but I’m passionate about books and reading, and belong to several local book groups. Together with Helen, our receptionist, I have set up a tiny bookshop within the practice, selling books donated by staff and patients – with all profits going to the local Dove Cottage Hospice.
